With MotoGP champion Marc Marquez injured, and forced to abandon Saturday's early comeback, the Andalucia MotoGP could see a victory rematch between Yamaha stars Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales, first and second last weekend and starting in those same positions today.

But even if those two do manage to break away, the fight for third is anyone's guess.

Francesco Bagnaia will start on the front row after his best ever qualifying, but any of those starting on the next two rows could also be in podium contention: Valentino Rossi, Miguel Oliveira, Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Takaaki Nakagami and Brad Binder.

And don't rule out Pol Espargaro (12th) and Andrea Dovizioso (14th), who will both be out for revenge after a poor qualifying.

Petronas Yamaha's Quartararo took his first-ever MotoGP victory in last Sunday's race, finishing a comfortable 4.6s clear of Monster Yamaha's Vinales, with Ducati's Dovizioso completing the podium after Marquez's huge highside.

Others to watch this weekend include the KTM's of Pol Espargaro, rookie Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira, who all impressed on Sunday. By contrast, Aleix Espargaro and Aprilia's highly impressive winter form deserted them during the opening weekend.

While Marquez's fractured right arm proved too big an obstacle for even the seven-time world champion to overcome, fellow injured riders Cal Crutchlow (wrist fracture) and Alex Rins (dislocated shoulder) are back to start their first race of the season.
